How To Change Internet Explorer’s Default Search Engine Setting
If you upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) or are using Windows Vista you have probably noticed that your search results are served by Microsoft Live Search by default.
Below are instructions on how to change Internet Explorer’s default search engine to Google or any other provider.
1) Type CTRL+T (to start a new tab). The search bar in IE7 is on the top right hand corner of the browser.

2) Click the drop down arrow to add/modify default search providers (I already changed mine to Google). Click “Find More Providers”
(NOTE: If you are not in a new a tab the search providers will load in current tab…so read next steps before you click).

4) Select a provider

5) Make the new selection your default provider.

6) Type CTRL+E. This will place your cursor in the default search. Type a search to test.
Just for grins…what happens if I go to http:/www.live.com. You will notice that Microsoft’s Live Search uses a simple clean interface..just like Google (and they want me to come back)…hmmm.
